The Island of Santa Catarina

Florianópolis is the capital of Santa Catarina state and enjoys one of the best income index and quality of life of the country. It is also one of the capitals that welcome most tourists from different states of Brazil all year round as well as tourists from Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile during summer time. Europeans and Americans are also discovering and enjoying the beauty of the local nature.

A lot is said about Florianópolis and its beaches, lagoons, dunes and welcoming people. The island is not lacking in beauty, either in nature, in its blockhouses of colony time or in its people. There are plenty of reasons on why the island is known as the Magic Island. The good vibes are always there on its breathtaking beaches, in the bustling nights, in the fishing routine of the local ones and in the in the mixture of this villager and cosmopolitan city.

The "Newsweek" magazine has elected it in 2006 as one of the best ten cities of the world to live in.

Besides the beaches, Florianópolis still preserves a great part of it’s historical pratrimony. One of the best places to visit is Lagoa da Conceição, besides it’s natural beauty it has a great nite life.
